"I think it's ok" was written towards the end of 2006 while I was struggling through some difficult circumstances. I found myself in a clinical depression, and was really struggling to keep a tight reign on my mind. I was struggling in almost every area of my life as I battled to keep control of what was taking place in my mind. I succumbed to overwhelming feelings of hopelessness as the darkness just seemed to get deeper around me. It was during this time, that I wrote this song. I felt that too often we are guilty in our churches of giving people the impression that we had to be completely in control all of the time, and that there was no room for times of real struggle and difficulty - but that is simply not true. I have come across many well meaning Christians who frown upon others who struggle with their faith, or find themselves battling with dark fears and thoughts. I think that is why the book of Job is in the Bible - to let us know that getting depressed and struggling to find answers is as normal as getting the cold; and it doesn't make us a failure.
The interesting thing at the end of the book of Job, is that God does not condemn him for getting angry and depressed - but God does condemn Job's friends for trying to give him formulaic answers to Jobs problems. God can take us getting angry at Him - and doesn't stop loving us if we feel like shouting at Him.
This is a preview mix of the track which will be available to download in the near future.
